Robots.txt
Files
A robots.txt file placed in your root (main/home)
directory can help guide the "good bots" through your
site and keep them out of directories that you do not want them
to index. "Good bots," such as Google, Yahoo
and MSN, follow the guidelines you specify in your robots.txt
file and crawl your website accordingly. Unfortunately,
the "bad bots" usually do not (see the "User
Agents List" below to exclude those bad guys!) |

A great forum with a lot of information and
resources related to web design. This is where I learned
how to implement a .htaccess file in many of my website directories
to exclude spambots and perform a variety of other functions.
They require registration to read/post in the forum; however,
