My family (mom, dad, brother, and sister) moved
to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1969 (now known
as the Czech
Republic). I was born a few years later in North Texas
and held the title of our little "American child."
I am very proud of my Czech heritage and always thought we were
a special family because of where we came from.
I grew up in the North Texas area where I attended elementary,
middle and high school. I graduated from college with
honors in 1995 with a BS in Biology (minor in Chemistry).
I spent 3 months in the Czech Republic in late 1995 traveling
the country and working as an English tutor. It was such
a wonderful experience! Afterwards I began working for
food manufacturers as an Analytical Laboratory Technician, Associate
Scientist and QC Manager. I have always loved science
and making the transition from the scientific industry to science
teacher is the right path for me. My genuine love of learning
and enthusiasm for the subject are attributes I would like to
pass on to my future students. I am now attending the
same university I graduated from working towards my teacher
certification and a Master's Degree in Education.
My husband, John, and I have been married since 1997.
We had our first child, Camden, in 2001. Camden is a very
energetic little boy who loves playing on his computer.
We also have 2 cats living with us: Moboo and Rusty.
Oops, and let's not forget our little hamster, Dennis.
One of my favorite hobbies is website and graphic design.
I have truly become a bona-fide "Computer/Tech Junkie"
over the last several years! I also
enjoy cooking, home decorating, gardening, scrapbooking, and
competing in video game tournaments with my son and husband.
